Ayurveda the ancient science of life has been able to throw ample light on the maintenance of a healthy and good life. Ayurveda provides a philosophy of life in the background of maintaining a good and healthy living. The chief aspects of this science are the preservation of health and prevention of disease. According to Ayurveda, human body is a combination of three essential factors, Tridoshas – Vatha, Pitta, Kapha. These factors are responsible for maintaining the integrity of human body. If these are in a state of equilibrium, a man will never suffer from any disease. There are seven dhatus which form basic structures of body cells - Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Medas, Asthi, Majja and shukra. Malas are substances which are partly excreted from human body after performing their physiological functions. In short, imbalance of these bodily elements causes disease.
