Rise in the export of Spice Oils and Oleoresins

Parthenolide destroys leukemia

Parthenolide, a chemical derived from the feverfew plant, destroys acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells, leaving normal bone marrow cells relatively unscathed. Moreover, the compound may get at the root of the disease because it also kills stem cells that give rise AMLm, according to Reuters.

Fighting Diabetes Mellitus

It is reported that in urban areas of india, 12 per cent of the adult population suffers from diabetes, compared to six per cent in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Diabetes as per ayurveda is one of a group of twenty conditions called ‘prameha’. Prameha means disorder in which a person passes excessive and vitiated urine. The most serious form of prameha is madhumeha or diabetes mellitus. The early ayurvedic masters noted the sweetness of urine in this disease and hence called it ‘madhumeha’ meaning ‘rain of honey’
